The Barleythorpe Blog
I am happy to say that the weather has been so unseasonal that the project is now 3 weeks ahead of schedule as we speak. Of course, next week could see a deluge of snow and we would be extremely lucky to survive until February half term without at least some poor weather but the longer time goes by the more chance there is that the fundamental work will have been completed and if it snows in April we’ll be fine because the roof will have been on long before.
This week we signed off plans for all the power and data sockets in the building which will be all wireless but will also have banks of specialist computers in certain areas and we discussed where to put interactive whiteboards for the best sightlines and whether the door to the main unisex toilet area was bigger enough to accommodate a full wheelchair (it is). All thrilling stuff, none of which was part of my teaching training of course but then this job is never boring and it’s all in a good cause.
Next week we discuss the music rooms amongst other things so hopefully we can make a song and dance about that in future blogs….
